Determining your suitability for surgery will depend on many factors including your BMI, overall health and quality of your skin. The best candidates for liposuction / gland removal are those who have good skin elasticity and within 10% of their ideal body weight.
For the majority of men, the skin shrinks well and adapts to the new chest contour. In cases where the gynaecomastia is large or the skin elasticity is poor, liposuction / gland removal can result in loose, hanging skin. In these cases, the surgery may also need to involve some form of skin reduction.
