Tummy tuck (Abdominoplasty)
This patient underwent a type of tummy tuck known as ‘apronectomy’, which involves removal of the overhanging fold of skin and minimal undermining. This type of tummy tuck does not recontour the torso in the same way as a Brazilian or Fleur-de-lis tummy tuck, and is suited for high-risk patients who require removal of the overhanging skin only.
This patient had significant intra-abdominal fat, which a tummy tuck does not reduce. Despite her high-BMI she had an uncomplicated recovery and was delighted with the result.
